After long search for ideal JS gallery we choosed good old lightBox plugin. Thanks to jQuery library it have great compatibility, effective picture displaying, intuitive navigation, it's easy to implement... Without any serious remark. If it's not broken - don't fix it! And in combination with powerful Phoenix CMS administration gallery maintace is real pleasure.
And of course plugin should be customized to fit look and fill of rest of the site. Translating all kind of text is necessary. It looks so unprovessional to have page in one language and gallery pictures popups in other, what is unfortunally common practice on Net.
